Installation Notes

1. Ensure the engine is off and cool. Close the water intake seacock to prevent water from entering the vessel.
2. Access the sea water pump and remove the screws holding the end cover plate.
3. Use an appropriate impeller puller tool or needle-nose pliers to carefully remove the old impeller from the pump housing.
4. Clean the inside of the pump housing and the cover plate, removing any old gasket material or debris. Inspect for scoring or damage.
5. Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with a water-based lubricant or glycerin. Do not use petroleum-based grease.
6. Install the new impeller with a gentle twisting motion, ensuring the blades are bent in the correct direction of the pump's rotation.
7. Fit the new O-ring or gasket onto the pump housing or cover plate, ensuring it is seated correctly.
8. Securely refasten the cover plate, tightening the screws in a star pattern to ensure even pressure. Do not over-tighten.
9. Re-open the seacock, start the engine, and immediately check for proper water flow from the exhaust and for any leaks around the pump cover.
