- Lightly lubricate the outer edge and inner lip of the new seal with a marine-grade grease compatible with rubber.
- Position the new seal squarely over the bore with the spring-loaded lip facing the lubricant it needs to retain.
- Use a seal driver or a socket of the same outer diameter to gently and evenly tap the new seal into place until it is fully seated.
- Reassemble all components in the reverse order of removal, torquing fasteners to specification. Check for leaks before operation.
