Installation Notes
- Disconnect the vessel battery and close the raw-water intake seacock.
- Place a catch pan under the pump and drain remaining water by loosening the hoses as needed.
- Remove the pump end-cover screws, cover and old gasket or O-ring.
- Carefully remove the old impeller. Use an impeller puller if necessary and avoid damaging the pump housing.
- Inspect the housing, shaft and cover for scoring, corrosion or other damage. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Replace the lip seal, bearings and retaining rings with the supplied components.
- Apply a small amount of non-petroleum-based lubricant, such as silicone lubricant or soapy water, to the impeller and housing.
- Install the impeller with a twisting motion in the direction of shaft rotation. Do not force it onto the shaft; it must move freely for the pump to prime correctly.
- Install the key, cam and cam-screw components.
- Fit the correct new gasket or O-ring and securely fasten the end cover.
- Reconnect the hoses, open the seacock fully and reconnect the battery.
- After starting the engine, immediately check the pump and hose connections for leaks and confirm normal raw-water flow.
