What’s in the Box

  • 1 x Thermostat (6E5-12411-30-00)

Installation Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is cool to the touch before starting.
  2. Locate the thermostat housing on the engine block. Place a drain pan underneath to catch any residual coolant.
  3. Carefully remove the bolts securing the housing cover. Note their placement if they are different lengths.
  4. Remove the old thermostat and gasket. Clean both the housing and cover surfaces thoroughly, removing any old gasket material or corrosion.
  5. Install the new thermostat in the correct orientation. A small marking or "jiggle pin" should typically face upwards.
  6. Place the new gasket (sold separately) onto the housing, ensuring it is properly aligned with the bolt holes.
  7. Re-install the housing cover and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque in a crisscross pattern. Do not overtighten.
  8. Reconnect the engine's cooling hoses and refill the cooling system with the appropriate fluid.
  9. Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and let it run at idle. Check carefully for any coolant leaks around the housing.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if my thermostat is failing?

Common signs of a faulty thermostat include the engine overheating at various speeds, the engine not reaching its proper operating temperature (running too cool), or sudden, erratic fluctuations on your temperature gauge.

Is a new gasket required for installation?

Yes, we strongly recommend replacing the thermostat housing gasket (not included with this part) whenever you replace the thermostat. This ensures a proper, leak-proof seal.

What happens if the thermostat is installed upside down?

Most thermostats have a specific orientation. Installing it upside down can trap air in the cooling system or obstruct coolant flow, leading to inaccurate temperature sensing and potential overheating.

What is the recommended replacement interval?

While there is no fixed interval, thermostats are a critical wear item. It is good practice to inspect it during regular cooling system service and replace it every few years or if you observe any signs of failure.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
