Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if my engine needs a 150°F thermostat?

This 150°F (65.6°C) thermostat is specified for the Volvo Penta engines listed in the compatibility table, typically from 2002 and newer. Always check your service manual or the markings on your existing thermostat to confirm the required temperature rating. Using the wrong temperature can affect engine performance and efficiency.

What are the signs of a faulty thermostat?

Common symptoms include engine overheating (stuck closed), the engine not reaching normal operating temperature (stuck open), erratic temperature gauge readings, and poor engine performance or fuel economy. Coolant leaks around the thermostat housing can also indicate a failed seal.

Can I reuse my old gasket or O-ring?

No. It is critical to use the new gasket and O-ring included in this kit. Old seals can become brittle and compressed, and reusing them will likely result in coolant leaks. Always install new seals on clean, dry surfaces.

How often should I replace my engine's thermostat?

Thermostats are a regular maintenance item. While intervals vary, many marine mechanics recommend replacement every 3-5 years or as part of a major cooling system service to prevent failure during operation.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
