- Before starting, disconnect the engine's battery to prevent accidental startup.
- Locate and unbolt the old, corroded trim tab anode from the underside of the anti-ventilation plate on the lower unit.

- Position the new trim tab anode and fasten it securely with the mounting bolt. Do not over-tighten.
- Once installation is complete, reconnect the battery.
