- Run the engine only in water or with an appropriate flushing device, then confirm a steady cooling-water telltale stream and verify that the engine does not overheat.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this impeller fits my Honda outboard?
Confirm that your engine is a Honda Marine 4-stroke rated at 5, 7.5, 8 or 10 HP, then compare the exact model code, the original impeller and one of the listed OEM references. Also verify the dimensions of 14.20 mm inner diameter, 41.00 mm outer diameter and 23.00 mm height.
What are the signs of a failing water-pump impeller?
Common signs include engine overheating at idle or low speed, a weak or intermittent telltale stream, reduced cooling-water flow and visible cracks, stiffness, missing vanes or deformation when the impeller is inspected.
How often should an outboard impeller be replaced?
Replacement intervals depend on operating hours, storage conditions and water quality. Inspect the impeller during scheduled service and replace it when it shows wear, damage or loss of flexibility. Saltwater, sand and silt can shorten service life.
Is this difficult to install?
Installation requires removal of the lower unit and access to the water-pump housing. It may be suitable for an experienced DIY owner, but professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with outboard lower-unit service.
Is this an OEM part?
No. This is an aftermarket replacement impeller. Honda OEM numbers are provided only as fitment and reference information.
Are the drive key and gasket included?
No additional components are specified for this listing. The package contains one impeller only; verify any required drive key, gasket or other water-pump service parts separately.
What is the shipping speed and cost?
Available shipping methods, delivery estimates and shipping charges are shown at checkout and depend on the destination and service selected.
What is the warranty and return policy?
Warranty coverage and return eligibility are governed by the seller’s current policies. Contact customer support before installation if the part does not match the ordered application or if there is visible damage.
Safety & Important Information
- Verify the exact engine model, stroke, horsepower rating, OEM reference and impeller dimensions before ordering.
- Do not operate the outboard without an adequate water supply. Never run the engine dry.
- Inspect the water-pump housing and related service parts during installation; replace damaged components as needed.
- This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM Honda component.
- Professional installation is recommended when lower-unit service is outside your experience.
