Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cowling.
Shift the outboard into neutral and remove the lower unit (gearcase) bolts.
Carefully separate the lower unit from the upper casing.
Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover.
Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, taking note of the blade orientation.
Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate for scoring or damage.
Lightly grease the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease.
Install the new impeller onto the keyed shaft, turning the shaft clockwise to bend the blades into the correct position.
Reinstall the water pump housing and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
Reattach the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift rod, and water tube are correctly aligned.
Once assembled, test the engine using a water source and verify a strong stream from the tell-tale outlet.
