Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and drain the lower unit gear oil.
- Unbolt and remove the lower unit from the engine.
- Remove the bolts on the water pump housing to access the impeller.
- Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, removing the drive key.
- Clean the housing, plate, and surrounding areas. Inspect for scoring or grooves.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease.
- Install the new key, slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, and turn it clockwise to seat the vanes.
- Reinstall the water pump housing and torque the bolts to manufacturer specifications.
- Reattach the lower unit and refill with fresh gear oil.
- Reconnect the battery and test the engine in water, confirming a steady stream from the tell-tale outlet.
