Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental starting.
Shift the outboard into forward gear to simplify driveshaft spline alignment during reassembly.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) by unbolting it from the engine's midsection.
Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover to expose the impeller.
Carefully note the old impeller's blade orientation before removing it. Remove the old gaskets and keyway.
Clean the housing interior and inspect it for scoring or wear. Replace the housing if damaged.
Install the new keyway and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, rotating the shaft in a clockwise direction to seat the blades correctly.
Install new gaskets and reinstall the water pump housing cover, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water source (flushing attachment or in the water). Check for strong water outflow from the tell-tale port.
