Installation Notes
- Disconnect the boat's battery and close the water intake seacock.
- Locate the engine-mounted sea water pump. Loosen the hose clamps and detach the inlet and outlet water hoses.
- Remove the screws holding the pump housing cover in place and take off the cover.
- Grip the hub of the old impeller with pliers or an impeller puller tool and remove it. Note the rotational direction of the existing vanes.
- Clean the interior of the pump housing and inspect for any wear or scoring.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with a water-resistant marine grease or dish soap.
- Insert the new impeller, bending the vanes in the same direction as the old one.
- Re-install the pump cover (with a new gasket, if necessary) and tighten the screws evenly.
- Re-attach the water hoses and securely tighten the clamps.
- Open the seacock, reconnect the battery, start the engine, and immediately check for any water leaks around the pump housing.
