  1. Confirm the engine model, year, stroke type, and old impeller reference before beginning work.
  2. Disconnect the battery and place the outboard in neutral.
  3. Remove the lower unit according to the service procedure for your specific Suzuki model.
  4. Remove the water pump cover and old impeller. Inspect the housing, wear plate, key, and gaskets for damage or wear.
  5. Because this product is supplied as an impeller only, reuse serviceable hardware or obtain any required key, gasket, or seal separately.
  6. Install the impeller with the drive key correctly seated and orient the blades in the direction specified by the engine service manual.
  7. Reinstall the water pump cover and lower unit, tightening fasteners to the manufacturer’s specifications.
  8. Test the cooling-water flow after installation. Stop the engine immediately if it overheats or the tell-tale stream is weak or absent.

Maintenance & Troubleshooting FAQ

How do I confirm that this impeller fits my Suzuki engine?

Match your complete engine model, year, stroke type, and existing impeller reference with the compatibility table. The listed 2-stroke applications are DT90 and DT100 from 1988 onward. The listed 4-stroke applications are DF60 from 1998–2009, DF70 from 1998 onward, DF80 from 2010 onward, and DF90 from 2010 onward.

Is this a complete water pump repair kit?

No. This listing is for one water pump impeller only. The impeller key and other water pump service parts are not included.

Is the impeller key included?

No. The company product record identifies this item as a single impeller rather than a kit, so an impeller key is not included.

What are the signs of a worn impeller?

Common signs include overheating, an engine warning alarm, weak cooling-water flow, or no tell-tale stream. During inspection, look for cracked, brittle, damaged, or permanently set blades.

How often should a water pump impeller be replaced?

Inspect the impeller according to the maintenance schedule for your specific engine and replace it when it shows wear or damage. Service intervals can vary with operating hours, saltwater exposure, sand, silt, and storage conditions.

Is this an OEM Suzuki part?

No. This is an aftermarket replacement impeller intended to match the listed Suzuki applications and reference numbers.

Safety & Important Information

  • Verify the model, year, stroke type, serial-number range where applicable, and reference number before purchase.
  • Do not rely on horsepower alone for fitment; different engines may use different cooling-system components.
  • Do not operate an outboard with inadequate cooling-water flow.
  • Professional installation is recommended if you are not familiar with lower-unit or water-pump service.
  • Product images and dimensions should be compared with the original component when practical.
