Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the propeller.
Place a drain pan under the gearcase and remove the lower unit mounting bolts.
Carefully lower and remove the gearcase assembly from the driveshaft housing.
Unscrew the water pump housing bolts and slide the housing up and off the driveshaft.
Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's blades before sliding it off the driveshaft.
Clean the housing, wear plate, and all gasket surfaces. Inspect for grooves or warping.
Apply a light coat of marine grease to the new impeller and inside the pump housing.
Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft in its normal rotational direction to correctly fold the blades.
Reinstall the water pump housing, ensuring a correct seal with the gasket and plate.
Reattach the lower unit, torque bolts to spec, reinstall the propeller, and reconnect the battery.
Start the engine in water and verify a strong, consistent stream from the tell-tale outlet.
