Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
Locate and unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard's midsection.
Carefully lower the gearcase to access the water pump housing.
Remove the water pump housing bolts and lift the housing to expose the old impeller.
Take note of the old impeller's blade orientation before removing it and its drive key.
Clean the housing and wear plate, inspecting for scoring or damage. Replace if necessary.
Install the new drive key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, rotating the shaft in the direction of engine rotation to fold the blades correctly.
Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the housing and reinstall it over the new impeller.
Securely fasten the housing bolts and reattach the lower unit to the engine.
Reconnect the battery and test the engine with a water supply to confirm proper water flow.
