Install the new impeller by rotating the driveshaft in a clockwise direction to bend the vanes correctly. Ensure the key is properly seated.
Reassemble the water pump housing, applying a light coat of marine grease to the interior.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift shaft are correctly aligned. Test the engine cooling system at a safe idle.
