Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the engine's battery and shut off the fuel supply for safety.
2. Place the outboard in neutral and remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase).
3. Carefully separate the lower unit from the upper housing to access the water pump.
4. Unscrew the bolts on the water pump housing and lift it to expose the impeller.
5. Remove the old impeller, taking note of how the blades are oriented.
6. Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate for scoring or damage.
7. Install the new impeller by aligning it with the key on the driveshaft. Turn the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to seat the blades.
8. Reassemble the pump housing, apply sealant to bolts if required, and tighten to spec.
9. Reattach the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft and water tube align correctly.
10. Once assembled, test the engine in water to verify a strong, steady stream from the tell-tale outlet.
