Note: When purchasing a complete water pump repair kit separate from just the impeller, additional components are included such as gaskets, plates, bolts, O-rings, and seals.

Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery before beginning work.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor.
3. Unbolt and carefully lift the water pump housing to expose the impeller.
4. Remove the old impeller, noting the rotational direction of the existing blades.
5. Clean the housing interior and inspect for wear or damage.
6. Install the new impeller, using the wood drift key to lock it to the driveshaft. Gently turn the driveshaft in a clockwise direction while pressing down on the housing to seat the blades.
7. Re-install the water pump housing, ensuring a proper seal.
8. Re-attach the lower unit to the engine.
9. Reconnect the battery and test the engine with a water supply to confirm cooling system function.
