Installation Notes

Disconnect the spark plug leads and shift the outboard into neutral.
Place a drain pan under the gearcase and remove the drain/fill screws to drain the gear lube.
Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper leg assembly. Carefully lower the unit.
Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing. Note the orientation of the old impeller vanes.
Remove the old impeller, key, gaskets, and wear plates. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
Install the new housing plate, gaskets, and impeller key. Slide the new impeller on while turning the driveshaft clockwise to bed the vanes correctly.
Install the new housing cup, housing, and O-rings. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the housing.
Secure the new water pump assembly with the provided screws, tightening to manufacturer torque specs.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the water tube and shift shaft align correctly. Refill the gearcase with fresh lube before starting the engine.
