Installation Notes

1. Shut off the engine, close the seacock, and allow the system to cool completely.
2. Locate the raw water pump housing and place a small container underneath to catch spilled water.
3. Carefully remove the pump's faceplate screws.
4. Gently remove the old impeller using needle-nose pliers or an impeller puller. Note the direction the blades are bent.
5. Clean the pump housing interior and faceplate, inspecting for wear or scoring.
6. Install the new gasket and/or O-rings on the pump body or faceplate.
7. Lubricate the new impeller and inside of the housing with a water-based lubricant (e.g., glycerine or dish soap).
8. Insert the new impeller with a twisting motion, bending the blades in the same direction as the old one.
9. Reinstall the faceplate and tighten the screws evenly in a crisscross pattern.
10. Open the seacock, start the engine, and immediately check for proper water flow and leaks.
