Installation Notes

Disconnect the negative battery cable before starting work.
Drain the lower unit gear oil into a suitable container.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard's midsection.
Unbolt and remove the water pump housing to access the impeller.
Note the orientation of the old impeller's vanes before removal.
Remove the old impeller, Woodruff key, gaskets, and wear plates.
Thoroughly clean the housing and mating surfaces of any old gasket material or debris.
Install the new gasket, wear plate, and Woodruff key from the kit.
Slide the new impeller onto the drive shaft while turning it in the direction of engine rotation (usually clockwise) to bend the vanes correctly.
Reassemble the housing and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, refill with fresh gearcase lubricant, and reconnect the battery cable.
Test run the engine using a water supply, ensuring a steady stream exits the "tell-tale" outlet.
