Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the spark plug wire(s) to prevent accidental starting.
2. Place a drain pan under the lower unit and remove the gearcase drain screws to empty the lubricant.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper engine housing.
4. Carefully lower and separate the gearcase from the drive shaft housing.
5. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover.
6. Remove the old impeller, noting the rotational direction of the fins.
7. Clean the housing interior and install the new impeller. Ensure fins are oriented correctly.
8. Replace the housing cover and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
9. Reinstall the gearcase, ensuring the drive shaft and water tube align correctly.
10. Refill the gearcase with fresh lubricant and securely tighten the screws.
11. Reconnect the spark plug wire(s) and test the engine in a suitable water supply.
