Troubleshooting & FAQ
How can I confirm this kit fits my specific engine?
This kit fits a wide range of Yamaha 4-stroke models from F9.9 to F20 (2006–2023). The best method is to cross-reference your engine's model code and year with our "Engine & Model Compatibility" table. You can also match the OEM part number from your service manual (e.g., 6AH-W0078-00-00) with our "Part Number Matrix."
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Common symptoms include a weak or non-existent water stream from the "tell-tale" outlet, engine overheating alarms, and reduced engine performance as the ECU limits RPM to prevent damage. A visual inspection of the old impeller may reveal cracked, brittle, or missing vanes.
How often should I replace my water pump impeller?
For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to replace the impeller every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of operation, whichever comes first. If you frequently operate in saltwater or sandy/murky conditions, more frequent inspections and replacements are advised.
Is this an OEM part or an aftermarket replacement?
This listing is for an aftermarket replacement part, not an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) component. It has been engineered to meet or exceed OEM-level specifications using comparable materials. Our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 certified facility and are batch-inspected for quality and consistency.
How much is shipping and how fast will it arrive?
We ship worldwide quickly, with typical transit times of 5–15 days for most regions. Standard shipping is free on all orders. Expedited shipping options, if available for your location, will be presented at checkout for an additional cost.
What is the warranty and return policy?
This product is covered by a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty against defects under normal marine use. If you encounter an issue, please contact our support team with your order details for assistance. Returns are accepted within our standard return window for items that are unused and in their original condition. Please see our full policy page or reach out for instructions.
Safety & Important Info
- Verify images and specifications against your original part before installation. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase or install.
- This is an aftermarket replacement part, not an OEM component. All mentions of brand names and part numbers are for reference purposes only.
- Professional installation by a qualified marine mechanic is highly recommended for safety and performance. Improper installation can lead to engine damage.
