Installation Notes
- Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is off and in neutral.
- Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor.
- Unbolt and remove the water pump housing to access the old impeller.
- Remove the old impeller, gasket, o-ring, and key. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Apply marine-grade silicone grease, glycerine, or dish soap to the new impeller and the inside of the pump housing.
- Install the new key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, twisting it in the direction of normal engine rotation.
- Place the new gasket and O-ring in their correct positions.
- Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
- Reattach the lower unit to the outboard.
- CRITICAL: Do not start the engine without a reliable water supply. Use a flusher or submerge the lower unit in water before starting to test.
