Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I confirm this kit fits my specific engine?

The best way is to check the Part Number Matrix and Engine & Model Compatibility tables on this page against your engine's model, year, and original part number. If your information matches, the kit will fit.

What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?

Common signs include a weak or non-existent water stream from the "tell-tale" outlet, engine overheating alarms, and reduced engine performance. Visible signs on the old impeller include cracked, brittle, or missing vanes.

How often should I replace my water pump impeller?

For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years or every 100-200 hours of use, depending on operating conditions (especially in saltwater or sandy/silty water).

Is this a complete kit for a full rebuild?

Yes, this is a comprehensive kit that includes the impeller, housing, plate, gaskets, seals, and hardware required for a full water pump service. Refer to the "What’s in the Box" section for a complete list of contents.

Do I need special tools for installation?

Standard mechanical tools, such as a socket/ratchet set and torque wrench, are required. A marine-safe lubricant for the impeller and gasket sealer may also be necessary. Professional installation is recommended if you are not experienced with outboard maintenance.

Why are there two different impeller keys included?

Different engine models and production years sometimes used slightly different key types. This kit includes both common variants (black and white) to ensure compatibility across the listed application range. Use the key that matches your original part.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.

Safety & Important Info

  • Verify images/specifications vs your original part. If anything differs—even if your model appears compatible—do not purchase.
  • This is an aftermarket replacement, not an OEM component.
  • Professional installation is recommended for safety and performance.
