Installation Notes
- Shut off engine power and disconnect the battery terminals for safety.
- Close the raw water intake seacock to prevent water from entering the vessel.
- Loosen the tension on the serpentine belt and remove it from the raw water pump pulley.
- Remove the bolts securing the pump cover. Note the orientation of the cover.
- Carefully remove the old cover O-ring and impeller. Pliers or an impeller puller may be needed.
- Clean the interior of the pump housing, ensuring no old impeller pieces or debris remain.
- Install the new housing O-ring.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller with a suitable marine lubricant and insert it, turning in the direction of engine rotation to bend the blades correctly.
- Reinstall the pump cover with the new bolt O-rings, tightening the bolts in a star pattern to ensure an even seal.
- Re-tension the serpentine belt according to manufacturer specifications.
- Open the raw water seacock.
- Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and immediately check for any leaks around the pump housing.
