Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral.
Unbolt and carefully lower the gearcase (lower unit) from the engine midsection.
Remove the water pump housing bolts and lift the housing off the driveshaft.
Take note of the rotational direction of the old impeller's vanes before removal.
Remove the old impeller, woodruff key, wear plate, and any gaskets.
Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces, removing any old gasket material or corrosion.
Install the new gasket and wear plate onto the gearcase.
Slide the woodruff key into its slot on the driveshaft and guide the new impeller down over it.
Apply a light lubricant to the inside of the pump housing, then install it while turning the driveshaft clockwise to correctly bend the impeller vanes.
Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring all shift linkages and splines are aligned, and tighten mounting bolts.
Reconnect the battery and test the engine in water, confirming a strong, steady stream from the cooling system's tell-tale outlet.
