Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery before beginning work.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) aFcers you have disconnected the shift linkage.
Unbolt and remove the water pump housing cover and assembly.
Inspect the housing for wear, scoring, or damage. Remove the old impeller, wear plate, and all gaskets.
Thoroughly clean all mating surfaces, removing any old gasket material or sealant.
Install the new gaskets, wear plate, and O-rings as supplied in the kit.
Install the new impeller into the housing. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise to help set the vanes correctly.
Reinstall the water pump housing, ensuring a proper seal. Torque bolts to manufacturer-specified values.
Reattach the lower unit to the outboard, connect the shift linkage, and test operation in water to confirm strong water flow from the tell-tale port.
