Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover.
2. Drain the lower unit gearcase oil completely.
3. Remove the mounting bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the midsection and carefully lower it.
4. Unbolt and lift the water pump housing to expose the old impeller and wear plate.
5. Remove the old impeller, Woodruff key, gaskets, and plates, cleaning all mating surfaces thoroughly.
6. Install the new gasket and wear plate, followed by the new Woodruff key and impeller. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to seat the impeller vanes correctly.
7. Install new O-rings and gaskets before re-installing the housing. Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
8. Re-attach the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are properly aligned.
9. Refill the gearcase with the specified marine gear lubricant.
10. Once assembled, test the engine using a water supply (flushing muffs or in water), and verify a strong, consistent stream from the tell-tale outlet.
