Drain the gearcase lubricant completely into a suitable container.
Remove the propeller, taking care to note the order of washers and spacers.
Unbolt and remove the propeller shaft bearing carrier assembly.
Using a bearing press or appropriate driver, carefully press the old needle bearing out of the carrier.
Thoroughly clean the bearing seat inside the carrier to remove any debris or corrosion.
Align the new needle bearing and press it squarely into the carrier until it is fully seated.
Reinstall the bearing carrier assembly, ensuring all seals are correctly positioned.
Reinstall the propeller, hardware, and cotter pin.
Refill the gearcase with fresh, manufacturer-recommended lubricant.
