This Water Pump Impeller Kit – Fits Johnson/Evinrude 14-28HP (Replaces 395270, 18-3383) is designed for Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines from 14HP to 28HP 2-Stroke models manufactured between 1979 and 1997. The kit provides all necessary components to rebuild the water pump assembly in the lower unit for a complete repair.

Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the propeller.
2. Drain the gearcase lubricant completely.
3. Remove the lower unit from the outboard motor by unfastening the mounting bolts.
4. Unbolt and carefully separate the old water pump housing from the lower unit.
5. Clean the mating surfaces of any old gasket material or sealant.
6. Install the new impeller, cup, and housing components supplied in the kit.
7. Ensure the impeller drive key is correctly seated on the driveshaft.
8. Lightly grease the inside of the pump cup and the new impeller before assembly.
9. Reassemble the housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Reinstall the lower unit, refill with fresh gearcase lubricant, and reconnect the battery.
11. Start the engine in a water-filled test tank or with a water flusher to confirm proper water flow from the telltale outlet.
