This Water Pump Impeller Kit – Fits Johnson/Evinrude 60-75 HP provides all necessary components to service and rebuild the lower unit water pump. It is designed for Johnson/Evinrude 3-cylinder 60-75 HP 2-Stroke engines (1979–2003) and 60-70 HP 4-Stroke engines (1998-up).

This kit is a direct replacement for Johnson/Evinrude parts 432955 and 438597, as well as aftermarket equivalents from Sierra (18-3389) and Mallory (9-48213).

Installs in the lower unit of the outboard engine.

Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and shift linkage. Unbolt and remove the lower unit from the outboard motor.
Remove the water pump housing bolts and lift the housing off the driveshaft.
Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, noting the orientation of the fins. Remove the impeller key.
Remove and discard the old gaskets, wear plate, and seals from the housing and base.
Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, ensuring they are free of old gasket material and corrosion.
Install the new O-rings and seals in the housing and on the driveshaft.
Install the new wear plate and gasket onto the lower unit.
Place the new impeller key in its slot on the driveshaft and slide the new impeller on, rotating clockwise to bed the fins.
Install the new housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
Reinstall the lower unit, reconnect the shift linkage, and test the engine with a water supply.
