Installation Notes
- Shut off the fuel supply valve and place absorbent rags underneath the work area to catch any spills.
- Carefully note the direction of fuel flow indicated on the old filter body, typically marked with an arrow.
- Loosen the hose clamps on both sides of the filter and gently twist the hoses to break the seal.
- Remove the old filter and immediately plug the fuel lines to prevent leakage.
- Install the new filter, ensuring the flow arrow points in the correct direction (towards the engine).
- Securely tighten the hose clamps on the new filter connections. Do not overtighten.
- Turn the fuel supply back on, prime the engine if necessary, and carefully inspect for any leaks before starting the engine.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I know if this filter fits my engine?
The best way to confirm fitment is by matching your existing part number to one of the cross-references in our Part Number Matrix. You should also verify your engine model is listed in the compatibility table and that your fuel line is a 6 mm diameter.
What are the signs of a clogged or failing fuel filter?
Common symptoms include engine hesitation or sputtering, difficulty starting, rough idling, reduced power and acceleration, or stalling. A visual inspection may also reveal debris or water in the filter bowl.
How often should this fuel filter be replaced?
As a best practice, in-line fuel filters should be replaced annually or every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Refer to your engine’s service manual for the manufacturer-recommended interval.
Is any special sealant needed for the hose connections?
No. The hose barb fittings are designed to create a secure seal when the fuel line is pushed on and a hose clamp is properly tightened. Do not use any thread sealant or tape.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
