Installation Notes
- Shut off the fuel supply valve to the engine to prevent spills.
- Place a suitable container or absorbent towels under the fuel filter housing to catch any diesel fuel.
- Unscrew the filter housing bowl or retaining ring. Carefully lower and remove the old filter element.
- Clean the inside of the housing and bowl with a clean, lint-free cloth. Inspect gaskets and O-rings for wear and replace if necessary.
- Lightly lubricate the new filter's gaskets with clean diesel fuel or motor oil.
- Install the new filter element into the housing, ensuring it is seated correctly.
- Reassemble the housing, screwing it on hand-tight until the gasket makes contact, then tighten as per manufacturer specifications (usually an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn). Do not overtighten.
- Prime the fuel system according to your engine's manual to bleed any air from the lines.
- Start the engine and carefully check for any leaks around the filter housing.
