Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this pump fits my outboard?
Check your engine's model, year, and horsepower against the "Engine & Model Compatibility" table. The most reliable method is to match the part number stamped on your old pump to the equivalents listed in our "Part Number Matrix."
Is this a high-pressure or low-pressure pump?
This is a low-pressure (LP) electric fuel pump. Its function is to supply fuel from the tank to the Vapor Separator Tank (VST). It is not a replacement for the high-pressure (HP) pump.
What are common symptoms of a failing low-pressure fuel pump?
Telltale signs include engine bogging at high RPMs, difficulty starting, intermittent power loss, or a sputtering engine, especially under load. This is often because the high-pressure pump is being starved of fuel.
What does VST mean, and why is this pump related to it?
VST stands for Vapor Separator Tank. This low-pressure pump's job is to keep the VST full of fuel. From there, a separate high-pressure pump delivers it to the fuel injectors. A failing LP pump will starve the VST and, consequently, the engine.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, it is batch-inspected for consistency.
