Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is cool. Drain the engine's cooling system completely.
Remove the engine cover and any components that block access to the cylinder head(s), such as intake manifolds or electrical wiring.
Following the manufacturer's service manual, loosen the cylinder head bolts in several passes and in the reverse order of the tightening sequence.
Carefully lift the cylinder head away from the engine block. Do not use a pry bar, which can damage the mating surfaces. Remove the old head gasket.
Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of both the cylinder head and the engine block. Ensure they are free of any old gasket material, oil, or debris.
Position the new gasket on the engine block, confirming its orientation matches the dowels and coolant passages. Do not use sealant unless specified by the engine manufacturer.
Carefully place the cylinder head back onto the block. Install the head bolts and tighten them in the correct sequence and torque stages as specified in your service manual.
Reinstall all previously removed components, refill the cooling system, and reconnect the battery before starting the engine.
