Installation Notes

1. Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is cool to the touch.
2. Drain the engine coolant completely.
3. Remove any components obstructing access to the cylinder head, such as covers, wiring harnesses, and fuel lines.
4. Carefully loosen the cylinder head bolts in the reverse order of the manufacturer's specified tightening sequence.
5. Lift the cylinder head off the engine block. Do not use a pry bar, as this can damage the mating surfaces.
6. Remove the old head gasket and thoroughly clean both the cylinder head and engine block surfaces. Ensure they are free of any old gasket material, sealant, oil, or carbon deposits.
7. Place the new head gasket onto the engine block, ensuring it aligns with the dowel pins and passages. Do not use any sealant unless specified by the engine manufacturer.
8. Carefully lower the cylinder head back onto the block.
9. Install and hand-tighten the head bolts. Then, using a torque wrench, tighten the bolts in the correct sequence and to the specified torque values found in your engine's service manual.
10. Reinstall all previously removed components, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.
11. Start the engine and check for any coolant, oil, or compression leaks around the gasket.
