- Tilt the outboard motor up and ensure the engine is off and the kill switch lanyard is disconnected.
- Remove the cotter pin from the propeller nut.
- Unscrew and remove the propeller nut and any washers.
- Slide the propeller off the propeller shaft.
- If a broken shear pin is present, remove both pieces from the shaft and propeller.
- Align the new propeller with the hole in the propeller shaft.
- Insert the new shear pin through the propeller and shaft until it is centered.
- Re-install the propeller washers and nut, tightening securely.
- Insert a new cotter pin through the nut and shaft, bending the ends to lock it in place.
