Troubleshooting & FAQ
How often should a water pump impeller be replaced?
For most outboard engines, it is recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years, or after every 100-200 hours of use, depending on operating conditions. Sandy or silty water can accelerate wear.
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Key indicators include a weak or intermittent water stream from the tell-tale outlet, engine overheating alarms, steam from the exhaust, or a melted water pump housing. If you notice any of these, inspect the impeller immediately.
Is this kit compatible with models outside the specified year range?
While the kit is confirmed for 2002–2006 for 8/9.9 HP models, some 10 HP models show "All years". It's critical to verify by matching your OEM part number (06192-ZW9-000) and visually comparing your old parts to the photos in this listing before ordering.
Can I reuse my old water pump housing?
Yes, you can typically reuse the housing if it is not warped, cracked, or heavily scored on the inside. If significant wear is present, the housing should be replaced to ensure proper pump performance and pressure.
What is the difference between an OEM and an aftermarket part?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). It is built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Our parts are manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility and are batch-inspected for consistency and quality.
What are the shipping speed and cost?
We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit is 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free for most orders, and expedited options are available at checkout where applicable.
What is the warranty and return policy?
This product is covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If you encounter any issues, please contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window for unused items in their original condition. See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
