- Turn off the engine and close the raw water intake valve (sea cock).
- Place rags or a small container under the water pump to catch spills.
- Remove the pump's cover plate screws and take off the cover.
- Use impeller pullers or two flat-head screwdrivers on opposite sides to carefully lever the old impeller out of the housing.
- Clean the pump interior and inspect for wear, scoring, or leftover impeller pieces.
- Apply the included glycerine lubricant to the new impeller and the inside walls of the pump housing.
- Insert the new impeller with a rotating motion, ensuring the blades bend in the same direction as the old one (matching engine rotation).
- Install the new O-ring on the cover plate.
- Re-secure the cover plate, tightening screws evenly to ensure a proper seal.
- Open the sea cock, start the engine, and immediately check for leaks and confirm water is flowing from the exhaust.
