Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off and the seacock is closed before starting work.
- Remove the screws holding the raw water pump's cover plate.
- Carefully pry off the cover plate. Note the direction the old impeller blades are bent.
- Using needle-nose pliers or impeller pullers, remove the old impeller from the pump housing.
- Clean any debris or old gasket material from the housing and cover plate.
- Lubricate the inside of the pump housing with a small amount of glycerin or dish soap.
- Install the new impeller by squeezing the blades together and pushing it into the housing with a twisting motion, matching the old blades' direction.
- Place the new gasket and/or O-ring onto the housing.
- Reinstall the cover plate and tighten the screws evenly.
- Open the seacock.
- Start the engine and immediately check the pump for any leaks.
