Installation Notes

Thoroughly clean the cowl surface with a mild detergent and water, then wipe with isopropyl alcohol to remove any grease, wax, or residue. Ensure the surface is completely dry.
Carefully position the largest decal first to ensure proper alignment. Use painter's tape to create a hinge on one edge.
Lift the decal, peel off the backing paper, and slowly apply it from the hinged edge, using a squeegee or credit card to smooth it out and eliminate air bubbles.
Repeat the process for the remaining decals, using the main decals as a reference for placement.
Once all decals are applied, press firmly over the entire surface. Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before exposing the engine to water or heavy use.

How do I know if this decal kit will fit my specific 90HP model?

What is the best way to remove the old, cracked decals?

Gently heat the old decals with a heat gun or hairdryer on a low setting to soften the adhesive. Use a plastic scraper or your fingernail to peel them off. Any remaining adhesive can be removed with an adhesive remover solvent or isopropyl alcohol.

Will the colors (red/blue) exactly match my original decals?

Our decals are made to match the original OEM color schemes as closely as possible. However, due to UV exposure and age, your existing cowl color may have faded. The new decals will represent the original color profile.

Can I apply these decals in cold weather?

For best results, apply the decals in a temperature range of 50°F to 90°F (10°C to 32°C). If the surface is too cold, the adhesive will not bond effectively. You can warm the surface with a hairdryer if needed.

Are these decals layered or printed as one piece?

These are high-quality printed graphics on durable vinyl, covered with a clear laminate layer for protection. This process ensures longevity and resistance to fading, scratching, and marine elements.
