Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is turned off and cool.
Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor.
Unbolt and remove the water pump housing cover to expose the old impeller.
Take note of the old impeller's blade orientation before removing it from the drive shaft.
Remove the old impeller and the existing key. Clean the housing interior of any debris or corrosion.
Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease.
Install the new wedge key into the shaft, then slide the new impeller onto the drive shaft, rotating it in the direction of engine operation to seat the blades correctly.
Reinstall the water pump housing and torque its bolts to the manufacturer's specification.
Re-attach the lower unit and test the engine's cooling system function at a safe location.
