Troubleshooting & FAQ
Will this wrench fit my specific engine model?
This wrench fits a wide range of Mercury/Mariner Outboards (30-60 HP) and Mercruiser Alpha/Bravo 1 sterndrives. It is confirmed for 25 HP Mercury 4-Strokes (2006+). For all other models, please verify your required part number is 91-859046Q3 or a superseded equivalent.
Why is the wrench so large and brightly colored?
The wrench is designed to float if dropped overboard during a propeller change on the water. The bright orange color makes it highly visible and easy to retrieve from the surface.
Is this a replacement for the metal prop wrench?
Yes, this plastic floating wrench replaces older metal versions like 91-856639A1. It is built to provide the necessary torque while offering the benefit of being rustproof and buoyant.
What are the signs I need a new propeller wrench?
If your current wrench is cracked, stripped, rusted, or no longer fits the propeller nut snugly, it should be replaced. A damaged wrench can strip the nut, making propeller removal difficult.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.
