Installation Notes

Disconnect the battery and ensure the engine is turned off and cool.
Remove the engine's lower unit (gearcase) by unbolting it from the midsection. You may need to disconnect the shift linkage.
Place the lower unit on a workbench. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing.
Remove the old housing, impeller, gaskets, and wear plate. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
Install the new wear plate, gaskets, and impeller into the new housing. Ensure the impeller vanes are oriented correctly (typically bent counter-clockwise).
Lightly grease the inside of the housing and slide it over the impeller while turning the driveshaft clockwise to seat the vanes.
Secure the new water pump housing with its bolts, torquing them to the manufacturer's specification.
Reinstall the lower unit, reconnecting the shift linkage and ensuring the water tube aligns correctly with the pump outlet.
Secure the lower unit bolts and test the engine in a suitable water source, confirming water is exiting the tell-tale port.
