Installation Notes
- Disconnect the boat's battery and close the water intake seacock.
- Locate the sea water pump on the engine and place a rag underneath to catch any spilled water.
- Remove the serpentine belt from the pump pulley.
- Unscrew the bolts holding the pump housing cover. Note their positions if lengths differ.
- Carefully remove the cover. A small amount of water may drain out.
- Grip the old impeller with pliers and pull it straight out of the housing. Note the bend direction of the vanes.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease or soap.
- Insert the new impeller with a rotating motion, ensuring the vanes bend in the same direction as the original.
- Reinstall the housing cover, ensuring any gaskets are properly seated, and tighten the screws evenly.
- Reattach the serpentine belt, confirming correct tension.
- Open the seacock, reconnect the battery, start the engine, and immediately check for leaks and proper water flow from the exhaust.
