Installation Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal and close the engine's water inlet seacock.
- Place a catch pan under the pump and drain the system by loosening the relevant hose clamps.
- Disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses from the water pump housing.
- Unbolt and carefully remove the old pump assembly from the engine.
- Thoroughly clean the engine mounting surface, removing any old gasket material or sealant residue.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the new housing with a water-resistant marine grease or soap.
- Install the new wear plate, impeller, and quad ring seal into the housing. Place the new O-ring on the pump body.
- Mount the new pump assembly onto the engine, tightening the bolts evenly in a star pattern to the specified torque of 17 ft-lbs.
- Reconnect the hoses and tighten the clamps securely.
- Open the seacock, reconnect the battery, start the engine, and immediately check for any leaks and verify strong water flow from the exhaust.
