Installation Notes
- Disconnect the negative battery cable for safety.
- Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard or stern drive.
- Unscrew the bolts holding the water pump housing and remove the housing.
- Take out the old impeller, wear plate, gaskets, and seals. Note their orientation.
- Thoroughly clean all debris and corrosion from the housing and base surfaces.
- Install the new lower gasket, wear plate, and faceplate seal.
- Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft while turning the shaft clockwise to bend the vanes correctly.
- Install the impeller key if not already in place.
- Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Reinstall the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are properly aligned.
- Reconnect the battery.
- Run the engine on a water supply (flusher or in water) and confirm a steady stream from the tell-tale outlet.
