Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off and has cooled down completely.
- Place a suitable oil drain pan beneath the existing oil filter.
- Using a filter wrench, turn the old filter counter-clockwise to loosen and remove it.
- Clean the engine's filter mounting base, ensuring the sealing surface is free of old gasket material and debris.
- Apply a thin film of new, clean engine oil to the gasket of the new filter element.
- Carefully screw the new filter onto the mounting base by hand. Once the gasket makes contact, tighten it an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn. Do not overtighten.
- Check and top off engine oil to the correct level as needed.
- Start the engine and run it for a few minutes, carefully checking for any leaks around the new filter.
