Installation Notes

  1. Place an oil drip pan under the existing filter and drain plug.
  2. Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then shut it off.
  3. Unscrew the old filter counter-clockwise. Use an oil filter wrench if it's too tight to remove by hand.
  4. Clean the filter mounting surface on the engine block, ensuring the old gasket is not stuck to it.
  5. Lightly coat the gasket of the new filter with a thin film of clean engine oil.
  6. Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket makes contact with the mounting surface.
  7. Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn by hand. Do not overtighten.
  8. Refill the engine with the manufacturer-recommended grade and quantity of oil.
  9. Start the engine and carefully check for any leaks around the new filter. Shut off the engine and re-check the oil level.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

How do I know if this filter fits my specific engine model?

The best way to ensure compatibility is to verify your engine model and year against the lists in the "Engine & Model Compatibility" section. Additionally, cross-reference the part number stamped on your old filter with the numbers in our "Part Number Matrix."

What is the difference between the white and blue filters?

The color of the filter housing (canister) varies by the specific aftermarket manufacturer but does not affect the fit or function. As long as the part number and specifications match, both are interchangeable.

How often should I change my marine oil filter?

For most marine gasoline engines, it's recommended to change the oil and filter every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first. Always consult your engine's service manual for the precise maintenance schedule.

What are the signs of a failing or clogged oil filter?

Symptoms can include low oil pressure readings on your gauge, a decrease in engine performance, or an oil pressure warning light. If you notice any of these, inspect your oil system immediately.

Can I use this oil filter with synthetic marine oil?

Yes, this filter is compatible with conventional and synthetic gasoline engine oils, as long as the oil meets the specifications required by your engine manufacturer.

Is a special tool required for installation?

While the filter is designed to be hand-tightened, you may need an oil filter wrench to remove the old one, especially if it was overtightened. The new filter should not be installed with a wrench.

OEM vs. Aftermarket?

This listing is an aftermarket replacement (not OEM). Built to OEM-level specifications with comparable materials. Manufactured in an ISO 9002 facility, batch-inspected for consistency.

Shipping speed & cost?

We ship worldwide quickly—typical transit 5–15 days. Standard shipping is free; expedited options appear at checkout where available.

Warranty & returns?

Covered by a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If issues arise, contact support with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard window (unused & in original condition). See our policy page or reach out for instructions.
