Installation Notes
- Ensure the engine is off and cool. Place a drain pan under the old filter.
- Unscrew the old filter, turning counter-clockwise. A filter wrench may be needed.
- Clean the mounting surface on the engine, making sure the old gasket is removed.
- Apply a thin film of clean engine oil to the gasket of the new filter.
- Screw the new filter on by hand until the gasket makes contact with the engine surface.
- Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to 1 full turn. Do not overtighten.
- Check and top off the engine oil level as needed. Start the engine and check for leaks.
